This study falls within the domain of comparative theology and philosophy of religion, shedding light on the philosophical and theological critique of the issue of 'the vision and anthropomorphism of God in the Old Testament and Biblical texts'. The thesis deeply discusses and compares the analyses and perspectives of prominent Jewish philosophers, scholars, and Western thinkers throughout history. It reviews the vision of Spinoza, who attributes the impossibility of seeing God to weak human nature; the arguments of Alexandre Weill and Ibn Kammuna; and the philosophies of Maimonides and Philo of Alexandria in dealing with equivocal or allegorical texts (Al-Mutashabihat). Furthermore, the study highlights the efforts of these thinkers to interpret and deconstruct the anthropomorphic and corporeal Biblical depictions of the Divine essence, while uncovering the extent to which these texts were influenced by—and integrated with—the beliefs and myths of neighboring pagan nations (such as the Canaanites and others). Ultimately, the research provides a critical, deconstructive reading of how theological concepts were formulated within Jewish religious thought.-
