(في مسألة المياه و طريقة استعمالها دينيا في الأديان و الحضارات السابقة للإسلام منها حضارات بلاد ما بين النهرين و الحضارة المصرية القديمة ، و ديانات بلاد الفرس و أديان الهند فضلا عن اليهودية و المسيحية. لقد كان الماء منذ القدم - و لا يزال - عنصرا حيويا للحياة ، كما صار رمزا كونيا مقدسا عند جميع الحضارات و الأديان ، و ذلك لارتباطه الوثيق بطقوس كثيرة منها خلق الكون و التطهير للعبادة و الشرب للشفاء .
