Abstract

ظل الوقف في تاريخنا المديد يعامل معاملة سطحية بعيدا عن روح الابتكار والتجديد في الوسائل والأهداف، وفي هذه الورقة نكشف عن الدور الاجتماعي الرائد المؤسسة الوقف، وما يمكن أن يلعبه من دور فاعل في مساندة مؤسسات الرعاية الاجتماعية، وغيرها من المؤسسات الأخرى مثل الجامعات والمستشفيات، خصوصا مع ما نشهده من تحولات اجتماعية وسياسية، ورسوخ مفهوم المواطنة، مما يحدو بنا إلى توسيع منافع وريع الوقف ليشمل الجميع، كما تسلط هذه الورقة الضوء على جوانب من الابتكار في عصرنا من أجل تطوير هذه المؤسسة الرائدة. This paper explores the current state of the waqf (endowment) institution in Islamic history, highlighting how innovation and renewal have often been neglected in its development over the ages. It aims to underscore the vital social role that waqf can play in supporting institutions of social welfare, education, and healthcare—especially in light of ongoing social and political transformations and the strengthening of the concept of citizenship. The paper also sheds light on ways to develop the waqf institution by expanding its benefits to include all segments of society, with an emphasis on adopting modern and innovative approaches to revive its pioneering role
